Bringing Community Posts to All Creators with Access to Advanced Features

Hi creators,

We want to do more to help you build community on YouTube, which is why we’re making posts available to more creators! You no longer need >500 subs to get the Community tab enabled on your channels. Now, all creators with access to advanced features have Community posts -

here's how to sign up

.

There are 2 ways to confirm you have access to advanced features:

  • First option, from the YouTube app, tap the + button, then tap ‘Create a post’
    • If you don’t have access to advanced features yet, you’ll be prompted to verify at this point
  • Second option, navigate to Studio > Settings > Channel > Feature Eligibility
    • From Feature Eligibility, opt into advanced features

Last year, we saw creators requesting Community posts by using the "Send feedback" link or tweeting at the @TeamYouTube handle, but neither of these actions will get you access. The only way to get the Community tab enabled on your channel is to have access to advanced features (like we described above).

Once you have access to Community posts, you can take advantage of all of the fun and engaging features we’ve recently rolled out, such as

image poll posts

,

quizzes

, and

filters and stickers on image posts

. Note: you can only create quizzes on Android devices now, with iOS and desktop creation coming soon, but viewers can interact with quizzes across all surfaces! Creators can also bring others into the conversation by mentioning the handle or channel name in their posts.

We can’t wait to see how you use the Community tab on your channels!
